Pastor Marcus R. King, Lead Pastor
Pastor Marcus R. King serves as Senior Pastor at Salt Of The Earth Church, where he is committed to preaching the Word of God with clarity, conviction, and compassion.
With a desire to see lives transformed through the Gospel of Jesus Christ, Pastor King seeks to equip believers for spiritual growth while reaching the community with love and the truth found in the Word of God.
Known for his practical and Bible-centered teaching, Pastor King emphasizes discipleship, faithful Christian living and the importance of reaching disciples for Christ. His ministry is marked by helping others develop a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ while being able to apply biblical principles to their everyday lives.

As a shepherd, teacher and servant leader, Pastor King is committed to fostering a church culture where all people are welcomed and encouraged to discover their God-given purpose and to grow on their faith journey. Pastor King believes the Church is called to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world as stated in Matthew 5:13-16, faithfully representing Christ through worship, service, evangelism and community engagement. His prayer is that every person who comes in contact with any ministry at Salt Of The Earth Church will experience love, the life changing power of Jesus Christ and be inspired to live for His glory.
Pastor King was born and raised in Indianapolis, and is married to First Lady Charletta King. Together they have two daughters (Kaitlyn and Angelica) and two grandchildren (Brielle and William).
Pastor King accepted Christ at a young age and was baptized at Little Bethel Baptist Church, before becoming a charter member of Salt Of The Earth Church in 1990. He preached his first sermon in February of 2020 and was ordained in August of 2022 under the leadership of Pastor Emeritus, Dr. Mark L. King.
Pastor Marcus King’s academic background includes graduating from Ben Davis High School, attending Ball State University majoring in Special Education, earning a technical degree from Ivy Tech State College and receiving his Associate Degree in Theology from Grace Bible College and Theological Seminary where he is working to complete His Bachelor’s Degree. Pastor King served over twenty years as a Head Teacher at a Christian School and he is a recognized leader, nationwide in operations management.
