CHURCH NEWS

GREAT NEWS!  We have resumed in-person worship service! Services will start at 9:50 a.m. We will continue practicing mask wearing and social distancing. For cautionary measures, we will not resume Children’s Church and Sunday School until a later date. Our order of service will include music, primarily solos or duets for the time being. There will be no choir rehearsal or renditions until a date yet to be determined. A special shout out goes to the members of our Medical Advisory Board for looking at the numbers and making recommendations for us!

NEW SERMON SERIES! After just completing a six-week sermon series on “The Almighty in the Midst of the Awry,” February 13 we will start a new sermon series entitled, “The Love Thing.” Rev. Marcus King will start the series on February 13th.

BIBLE STUDY OPPORTUNITIES! Our Bible Study classes, each called Victory Class will meet virtually on Wednesday nights (6:30 p.m.), Thursday nights (7:00 p.m.), and Friday mornings (11:45 a.m.). We are studying Luke’s Gospel at the present time, verse by verse. It’s a blessing! If you want to attend one of the classes, please contact us! All are welcome!

WORTH NOTING: In the middle of winter, in sub-freezing temperatures, our church provided meals for the homeless, individuals living in tent cities in downtown Indianapolis. The food was prepared and served by our members as we supported an organization named Refuge Place.

MORE NEWS WORTH NOTING: In January our missionary offering went to Riley Hospitals, “Pottery by You and More” program and to help pregnant mothers housed there as they battle with Covid.

ORDINATION DATE CHANGED: Our initial plans we to conduct an ordination panel and service for Rev. Marcus R. King, Assistant to the Pastor, in February. This will now be conducted in March.
